Good day Adrian, I attended your talk at the 100 song writers club in Muizenberg recently. I have received the standard blank agreements from SAMRO and low and behold the word “assign” “assignee” “assignor” e.a. appears a number of times in the agreements. Do I change it, negotiate a change or call you? Regards. Fanus Brink. Sedgefield.

      Hello Fanus,

Thank you for contacting me. I’m glad you are on the lookout for those important word, but fear not with SAMRO. They have to take the copyrights in your performance right so that they can actually get money for you. I think this is one of the rare situations when the assignment is a good thing.

      Goodluck.

      Adrian
